Owning Your Online Brand is a Must

So I’ve been a broken record about this “Owning Your Online Brand” issue. The reality is, I’m even writing a book about it. Why am I so passionate about this? It’s because I am contacted daily by prospective clients who have been negatively impacted by their negative search results.

If you are not actively taking control of how you appear on Google Search results, then you are opening yourself up for the possibility of major damage control in the future. All it takes is one unsatisfied customer, one angry ex-friend or ex-employee or just some troll who decided that you are their next victim.

Take a moment to Google your name and your business name and look at the results. You should own your first page of results. If you do not, then make sure you sign up for the top 15 social networks today.

Click here to see the the top 15 social networking sites.

Important Tip: Remember to fill out as much information as you can. The more you fill out the info, the higher impact it has on how Google and other Search Engines view your profile.

  2. So true Danay! Ensuring you’re at the top of the search engines in multiple ways is the best practice for ensuring your brand is protected and seen. SEO is not just for website optimization but also social media too – thanks for sharing this helpful list!
