My Ode to Cofee

There are two important things you should know.

It’s snowing.

And

I’m taking my last sip of coffee.

Anyone who knows me or has ever looked at my social media accounts knows that I love coffee and snow. So while I contemplate over this last sip, I’d like to share with you some of my coffee memes, because today is Saturday and that is all I care to focus on.

Morning Person, Yes or No?

I am seriously a morning person. I get up at 5:30 every morning, make my first cup of coffee and get right to work before anyone can bug me about ANYTHING. That goes for kids, husband, dogs, clients, team members, the news, etc. I am not generally ready to interface with any life forms until that first cup is complete.

Happy Saturday!

Coffee Is A Haiku

I am so in love with coffee that I sometimes write coffee haikus. These are generally created while holding a steaming mug in one hand and a pencil in the other. Not really, but that is the mental picture I like to create for myself and others when my inner poet comes out. Honestly, haikus are ridiculously easy, so I can’t claim any immense talent when coming up with these. But they are fun and they are original.

Coffee with a side of Snapchat

Knowing me would mean that I love Snapchat too. So why not pair my love of coffee with the Snap? Really, you can’t beat the fun filters in Snapchat. While every other platform is trying to play catch-up with the whole stories feature (ie. Instagram, Faceboo, Twitter) they still have come short on the filters that Snapchat has to offer.

Yassssss! Another day to slay, but first…. #coffee #cafecito #ilovecoffee #5am #grind #grinding #dale

There you have it folks. My ode to coffee this lovely, snowy Saturday. Now that I have put my thoughts to the virtual page, I am going to make myself a third cup. Relax, it’s going to be decaf. And I am going to wake up my peeps and animals, gear up and go on a snow hike.

Have a wonderful weekend, and do let me know how this heavenly nectar has impacted your life.

  1. I can totally relate to your morning routine in regards to drinking coffee. While I enjoy drinking coffee in a privacy of my home, my morning usually starts with rushing to the subway and then getting coffee after I come up to the surface.

  2. I love this post! I, too, must have coffee in the am BEFORE I interact with anyone. I was not a morning a person for a very time, but now I have to be up before everyone else so that I can enjoy my first cup of coffee before anyone else starts asking anything of me.

  3. I also get up before everyone and enjoy a cup of coffee all by myself. On the rare occasion that I have not risen early enough to get at least one cup drank before my other half gets up I am a grump all day. LOL

  4. Oh goodness, we are so alike it’s not even funny. My love for coffee is a real, true love unlike any other. Can’t get through the day without it…

  5. I hear you! I wake up at 5:30 every morning and if it wasn’t for my morning cup of coffee I would never make it through my morning meetings. Or my afternoon meetings. Or evening meetings. Or just any meeting lol.

  6. I am jealous of your snow, we are in Scotland and usually we have had some but not this year – winter has forgotten to come to us ! Coffee is a must though for any morning.

  7. I am one of the people who is addicted to coffee. Cool Instagram shots and video. I cannot believe you get up that early. Also, I cannot function unless I get a few cups of coffee throughout the day.

  8. I love coffee but I am not a morning person. My first cup of coffee is mostly at noon an d I just love to take a break en enjoy it, nice ode to coffee congrats!

  9. I used to drink coffee often as well and then I decided to switch to a healthier alternative which is tea. It’s awesome and it’s packed with benefits. I’m sure you’re going to do great without drinking coffee.

  10. I love coffee but I love Dr. Pepper more. I actually just gave up Dr. Pepper as well. My body was becoming to addicted to it. The first day was excruciating. I had such horrible migraine all day then was nausiated. The second day I went and worked out. I haven’t had any withdrawl symptoms since. I am craving one though.

  11. I don’t like coffee–I love to smell, but I could never get on board with the taste. HOWEVER…I feel the same about Diet Coke. It’s how I get my caffeine and remain friendly.

  12. Love the coffee pictures and the haiku! I like getting up early before everyone else, too. I don’t know if I could get up at 530, though, lol! Watching the snow fall while drinking coffee is one of my favorite perks of mid-west living!

  13. I can relate alot to you here! I love my coffee to and i also like getting up early so i can enjoy my coffee with my laptop in peace before the kids wake up!

  14. I really love that coffee Snapchat of yours and you kinda inspire me of doing something like this. lol I also can’t start a day without coffee, but only once a day because two is too much for me.

  15. Well that was such a andom post about coffee lol I loved it, I don’t think 80% of adults would be up and functioning if it wasn’t for coffee… it deserves the graditute lol

  16. Snowing is a lazy day for me, sipping hot chocolate and coffee is feeling great while staring at my window watching snow.

  17. I’m more of an evening person. I really love to sleep in whenever possible. We don’t drink coffee in our house, but I really love the smell of fresh coffee. I think I have the same kind of relationship you have with coffee with chocolate.

  18. What a great post. I start each morning off with a big cup of coffee before I begin the rat race:)

  19. i’m a coffee person too! I wake up same time as you do and have me a hot coffee. isnt it nice that you get poetic with coffee,

  20. Ahhhhhhh as much as I love sleep, I could easily be a morning person!!!! I was for years until my daughter was born lol. Even now, once I’m up and out of my beloved bed, I’m ready to dominate the day.

  21. Drinking coffee is the first thing I do when I wake up in the morning, the good thing today there are coffee that are less in caffeine, found a coffee with ginseng for me to drink.

  22. My sister and my husband are exactly like you! My husband goes as far as having the coffee shipped to our house from Seattle!! I’m more of a tea girl, but I completely get your need for having that hot steaming cup all by yourself before the craziness of the day starts. We all need our space!!

  23. So I can’t relate but I know family members that can. I also think the love of coffe is transcendent in Latin Cultres, my grandpa could drink black coffe at night and sleep and my grandmother won’t drink instant coffee. My more Americanized self loves a flavored coffee, yes I like Starbucks too. Lol but this post is one I see in many Hispanics relating too.

  24. Love this, I can relate to having morning coffee. I’m not a morning person. I can’t even function before I have my morning coffee and more than one cup at that, lol. I’m jealous about the coffee plantation mentioned above lol.
