The Numbers Don’t Lie – Latino Consumers of Movies & Entertainment

Years ago I remember feeling frustrated with the constant onslaught of negative media portrayals of Latinos.

You know the ones, where the only stories being shared were overly politicized negative narratives like how Latinos were all a drain on the economy, yadda yadda.

That’s when I started sharing the truth with as many people as would listen.

The data tells the real story of the impact that Latinos have had and continue to have on our country.

Latinos over-index on EVERYTHING

The fact is that we are a tremendous economic power, a mighty force of entrepreneurs and the most effective workforce across ALL SECTORS in-spite of the lower access to funding, opportunities, representation and so on.

Now, I know you want an evil villain in this story.

But that’s not my style.

There is plenty of blame to go around, and all that will do is make people either angry or defensive.

I prefer to focus on the data, the positives and the changemakers.

That’s my jamb.

I will be discussing the actual numbers that show Latinos are a force when it comes to the audences Hollywood needs to pay attention to.

Join me on the Novermber 16th at 3PM EST as I sit down with Evette Vargas, one of my favorite Latina changemakers to talk about Latino consumers in Entertainment.
