Obligatory new blog post

Yes, I started another blog. I write several blogs, but they are all about very different things. This one is my one and only, about ME blog. I am a mom, I have 2 boys and I am married. Those 2 things are a very big part of who I am, just so you know.

Now onto the “Running and Ranting” thing. I run. About 2 years ago I decided to stop being overweight. I got myself into a lifestyle and I had to dig my way out of it. I am 5’2″ and I allowed myself to climb to 191 pounds.

So I went on a diet and lost 36 pounds. Part of my new lifestyle also included fitness. So I started walking on the treadmill. I could barely walk a mile. I kept challenging myself and jogging a little between walks until I was able to jog for 10 minutes straight. Then is was 15 minutes, then 20. Then I started tracking mileage and I eventually averaged 3-5 miles per day.

I ran my first 5k in February and I plan on getting into a 10k, a triathlon, a half marathon, and eventually, a full marathon.

I gained back 10 of those pounds thanks to evening wine and cookies, but I am still amazingly fit for my weight and can consistently run alot.

I changed up my training so that I now crosstrain by biking, kickboxing, etc. It helps with those foot injuries.

So, along with my running posts I will also rant about life in general. My rants are pretty harmless and just a way for me to practice my writing and start conversations. I am very happy and grateful for my life and these are my views of the world, politics and other stuff.

Looking forward to your comments!
